Factory Trip Part 3

July 20th, 2006

The highway drive is almost over so the pictures coming up with be a little on the rural area and some more boring pictures.

Starting to see mountains coming up. The last shot of the highway.

In the far end you can see two gas stations. One that looks like a yellow shell is shell and the other is esso. No more tall buildings, only those 4 stories at most.

I was able to take the price of the current gasoline sold in thailand in per liter. Premium is 30.20 Baht / L and 1 USD is 38 Baht right now. This is where units conversion is useful.

Another gas station, petronas.

One lane road all the way to the factory. This is where the driving becomes interesting. The truck that just passed by me was less than 20 cm away.

No more buildings. Last picture is coming up.

I’m at the gate of the factory. Didn’t take any photos in the factory. So this is it. If there are other kinds of photos request. Leave them as a comment and i’ll see if i can get them on sometime soon.

Factory Trip Part 2

July 19th, 2006

As promised, this is the 2nd part to my factory trip picture session. I left off at where I started going at 115 where the road limit was at 120 km/ h. As you will notice in the following pictures, lesser buildings, more trees, more dirt, and etc etc. There will be a third part to this just so that I can have something to post for tomorrow if i’m not lazy and forget.

Nothing much here. Enjoy a random shot with some ads, street lights, cars, etc.

Fly bridge. I’ve heard that Thailand fly bridges are pretty famous. Not to sure why but that’s what the engineer from India said to me so i took a shot of this. This is a U turn bridge on the highway incase someone needs to turn back for emergency purposes. Very rarely seen.

Switch to 2 lane and I started speeding to get to the factory faster. Thing about driving in Thailand is that you rarely get caught for speeding unless the police is right in front of you and you zoom past him at 50-60km over the limit. Otherwise I have driven 140km/h at 80km/h limit zones without any trouble.

The green sign on the right show the number of km you drove from the start of this road. It’s a good gauge of where you are at.

Raining clouds. My exit is coming soon. There should be more exciting pictures soon.

Pay toll ahead sign. 4 wheels 30 baht, 6 wheels 50 baht and so forth. The beer ad says “our thailand, our beer”.

Alright enough for today. I’ll post more tomorrow.

Factory Trip Part 1

July 18th, 2006

I have been pretty lazy with my blog for quite some time so I’ve decided to post more pictures to hopefully keep it alive once again. For the past 8 weeks or more, I have been driving to the factory that is 120 something km away from my house every monday and returning every tuesday. Therefore I’ll be sharing some of my driving scenes with some explanation of what each picture is about.

Starting point is from my apt in downtown and this is 5 mins away from the house when I took my first shot. It is possible to see how fast I was going at when I took the pictures for a good portion of the pictures. It’s cool how the meter is digital. Downtown, lots of cars and buildings along the roads.

You can see those electrion boards on the left. There are two road signs on top with some thai characters and english written on it. A typical downtown shot.

I was bored so i took another shot of how my interior looks like when I’m driving. Blurry picture.

Picture of the trash truck (it used to be yellow but now they changed all to green) and thailand flags (red white blue).

Traffic traffic. Look at the cars around me.

My first shot of the free way. 4 lane (hell yeah speed limit is at 120km/hr, you can see how fast i go while i took some of the pictures, got screamed by my future wife for those shots). Look at some boring ads, daikin and canon.

TO BE CONTINUED…

What is Official?

July 15th, 2006

For more than a month, I have posted my msn display name as “This is Official” with a side note of Nov 25 2006. I thought there would be more exposure of the official event on msn rather than on my blog. However, for completeness I will also officially announce that I am planning to get married on Nov 25 2006. There will be a small family and friends wedding banquet held in Taiwan on the same day. I have verbally asked a many of my close friends if they will be able to make it. Within this month, I should have prepared an electronic invitation ready for a RVSP to get a rough idea to how many will come to the gathering.

I would like to have a chance here to thank all my family and friends that has supported me in the past.

the DIV factor

March 15th, 2006

I’ve started to revamp the company website again this time trying to look for something new to edit my old layout. I remembered one of my friend saying that I should look into the DIV function to work out my tables so today afternoon I had a chance to search for it and was amazed at how easy it can do things instead of using the old table format. If there are other css commands worth to play around with, let me know guys…

It’s been a while since I’ve last posted

March 6th, 2006

Work seems rather boring these days so I was wondering how everyone else who is working get the work boredom mood out of their system? I know Ken does a lot of online pokering and Allan hasn’t got to that stage yet. I’ve been working for I guess 1 month to being one year and needs a kick somewhere to get myself going again. Working for money really sucks but then again I’ll be working for the sake of getting money for at least 10 more years before I start setting other better working goals for myself. I have been doing a lot of gaming lately whether it is with random heads online or with my buddies back home. It appears however gaming is not getting me the kick anymore which signals me to either find more activities for myself or start spending some money randomly.

More car snapshots…

February 20th, 2006

I’ll make an attempt to take more shots of my car and uploaded this / next week.
